Brooke Lucas – Secretary

Brooke began riding horses on her family’s farm at the age of four. A year later she enrolled as a Special Junior (ages 4-11) showing Paint horses in the “Lead Line” class. By the time she was eight, Brooke was showing “all around,” a variety of classes and disciplines, including: English, Western, Trail, Jumping, Showmanship and Horsemanship. During her Freshman year in high school, Brooke’s family started breeding horses. (They bred a total of seven horses; six of which are GREAAT! equine-assisted therapy horses.) In high school, Brooke joined District 2 High School Rodeo and competed in barrel racing & pole bending. As a Junior she met her future husband through Future Farmer’s of America (FFA). He motivated her to try his horse sport of choice: team roping. After high school they competed together for two years while studying Animal Science at Santa Rosa Junior College. In 2000 they moved to Florida where Brooke attended Florida School of Massage. After completing the Sports Program in 2001, she was hired to work at University Sports Massage Inc. Brooke and her sister, Tiffani, took over University Sports Massage in 2006 and currently provide sports massage to fourteen University of Florida teams. Working closely with athletic trainers, team physicians, strength coaches and PT’s, Brooke developed a friendship with Marty Huegel, PT (Carol’s husband). When he explained Hippotherapy and the work Carol was doing, Brooke became immediately interested.
